December was busy as usual. I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked, so my apologies to all. We had a nice Christmas at home with Mimi and Aunt Jenn. We did a lot of cooking, some hits (cherry pie) but a lot of misses (risotto, rib roast). Dinner at Joe T. Garcia's was perfect for everyone after eating four days worth of my cooking. These are lessons I learned this Christmas:
1. Don't try to cook something new for Christmas dinner.
2. When in doubt, ask the butcher if you are buying the right cut of meat.
3. Risotto is best made by professionals.
4. Joe T. Garcia's margaritas are still way too strong. Limit 1.
5. You can't go wrong with Julia Child's recipes. Bon appetit!
6. Repeat lesson from every Christmas that has nothing to do with cooking- we are blessed in so many ways. Thanks be to God : )
